Lonni Cibants, Chief Business Strategist | Partner
Lonni is the Family Development Director for Axial Family Office. She is responsible for creating, implementing and managing the new family development plan for the firm. Lonni’s emphasis is to understand the family’s needs, goals and objectives for their financial house and to ensure the Axial team is delivering on the plan. Lonni’s goal is to work closely with the family and the Axial team on not only their financial plans, but also knowing the family’s needs, wants, and desires that complement their financial plan.
Lonni’s background includes over 20 years in the finance, insurance and private banking industries. Recently she was a Wealth Director for The Bank of New York Mellon where she worked with clients, foundations, and endowments with portfolios of five million or more. She was responsible for ensuring the right team was assembled to assist the client with their overall financial goals and objectives, such as engaging the bank’s Wealth Strategists for specific needs such as stock concentrations, legacy planning and family governance. She worked closely with her client’s other advisors such as attorneys, accountants, consultants and family offices to effectively coordinate the client’s overall wealth picture into the other disciplines to ensure all areas were working in tandem on the client’s behalf.
Prior to her role at The Bank of New York Mellon, she owned and operated her own financial planning firm where she structured retirement income plans for clients aged 55+. Lonni co-founded Corpus Capital Management and Corpus Insurance Services of South Florida during the height of the 2007-2008 financial crisis. She identified a great need amongst retirees that needed true advice on action plans with their retirement assets that had dropped significantly during the crisis. Prior running her own financial planning firm, Lonni worked for The Guardian Life Insurance Company structuring life insurance, disability insurance and long-term care insurance for individuals, couples and business owners. She helped businesses with key-man insurance and buy-sell funding through life insurance.
Lonni began her finance and insurance career working for one of the most successful entrepreneurs in south Florida, JM Family Enterprises, Inc. She held progressively responsible management positions in Human Resources for the parent company, management positions in the Sales Planning and Customer Loyalty areas of the finance and insurance subsidiaries, World Omni Financial Corp. and JM&A Group. During her thast last four years at the company, she was directly responsible to the founder, Jim Moran, for directing the Customer Loyalty vision for JM&A Group, to ensure the contracted dealers sold JM&A insurance products in the dealership, were continuing and increasing their product offerings to their customers. Lonni conducted an extensive study and determined that the costs to acquire one dealer and the length of time to recoup those acquisition costs could be improved significantly; therefore, she structured a sophisticated reporting mechanism that was triggered when a threshold of products sold fell below a certain level required to keep the dealer in the JM&A model. As a result, the company saw a significant increase in product sales and dealer retention.
Lonni credits her passion to help others to her experience and at JM Family due to the example Jim Moran had for the firm.
Lonni holds her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and lives in Parkland with her husband Nick, has one son and one grandson. Her passions outside of her Axial Family Advisors work include travel, music, snow skiing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
