Tony Brunson, CPA, has over three decades of public accounting experience. Before becoming a partner at Sharpton Brunson & Company in 1985, he was an audit manager at Price Waterhouse, specializing in governmental audits. His expertise spans government, banking, and the oil and gas industries, making him a sought-after expert in audit and reporting requirements, federal and state cost methods, and cost allocation methods.

Brunson has been appointed by Florida courts as a Receiver and Trustee in various bankruptcy and guardianship cases and has served as an expert witness in government, construction, and healthcare matters. He also performs economic impact studies and provides economic development consulting services in South Florida, particularly in downtown Miami.

Tony has held leadership roles in several organizations, including the National Association of Black Accountants, Miami-Dade Housing & Finance Authority, United Home Care Services, Miami-Dade Community Foundation, Women in Distress, Broward Community Foundation, Miami Coalition for the Homeless, and Broward Behavior Health Care Coalition.

A Miami native, Tony is affiliated with the AICPA, FICPA, FGFOA, and Leadership Florida. His civic contributions have earned him numerous awards, such as the Claude Pepper Award, the Award of Excellence from the Louie Bing Scholarship Fund, and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s
“Up and Comers’ Business Awards.” His community involvement ranges from playing Santa for underprivileged children to advocating for domestic violence programs and enhancing the quality
of life for the elderly and youths.
